With the running of the 4th Annual Steve King Memorial just over a week away, three time and defending Chili Bowl Champion Kevin Swindell has thrown his name in the hat of contenders for the big event. Swindell will be behind the wheel of the Ochs Racing #1x. "We're very excited to have Kevin in the car and to bring a name like his to the Steve King Memorial," commented team owner Mike Ochs. "Steve was a good friend of ours. He lived 5 miles from us."

Swindell has been focusing most of his attention lately on the ARCA series. He has a seven race deal in place this season with Venturini Motorsports, of which only one race has been completed. Swindell is also optimistic about the event coming up. "They have quality stuff, and we'll just see how the weekend goes and maybe do some more racing with them in the future, stated Swindell." He definitely knows his way in a winged sprint car. A 2006 score at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway, made him the youngest ever to win a World of Outlaws feature. Last year, he was the Knoxville Raceway Rookie of the Year in the 410 class, finishing 3rd in points.

Swindell thinks he may have been at the Jetmore track several years ago, but isn't overly familiar with it. However, he claims he did watch last year's feature on the internet. The Ochs racing team will outfit Kevin with a brand new Maxim Chassis for the Steve King Memorial. "We kind of put this deal together on a whim and are hoping to have a great weekend," said Ochs.

Action gets underway on Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 PM. There will be a full two days worth of events in the City of Jetmore surrounding the race. Adult admission is $25 on Saturday and $20 on Sunday. To find out more visit the track's website at GreatAmericanDirtTrack.com.
